February 2024 From Katie:

We’re so grateful for places like this! We are leaving feeling truly relaxed. How could you not feel true calmness at the hideaway? Our favorite feature was the windows looking out to the trees and the beautiful walk on the trails and even the driveway! My partner is a park ranger and she especially enjoyed seeing all the care put into the land. Everything was clearly labeled and instructions were available for everything. The coffee provided was very delicious and somehow tasted even more amazing in the mugs made by a local artist. Our pup absolutely LOVED sniffing every single tree on the trails. The outhouse is close and clean. It was down to 8° on our first night there and it wasn’t an issue for us to use. If you’re looking for a place to truly unwind, this is it. If we weren’t outside enjoying the woods, we were in front of the fireplace reading and painting.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing others to enjoy this sweet slice of heaven, with our dog!

Singer/Songwriter, Josiah Jorgensen, was a recent guest at Riverwood Hideaway, which he used as a recording studio for his new song and video:

From Meggan:

A sensory journey that will leave your being restored. Arriving, you are struck by the remote peace, it feels quiet until the wind whips in the trees and you hear the birds and deer. Sanctuary. You enter the cabin. The details of which are beautifully curated into a modern, artful and satisfying space. The furnishings are comfortable, the supplies in the cabin bring north shore elegance. This cabin does not have your host's mismatched castoffs like other rentals may have. The handmade coffee mugs are beautiful, it feels like you're in a gallery. You go to the river, your private paradise for your stay. Take a dip, you won't regret it. Sit along the banks and listen. If you're lucky enough to have a rain, you'll see vastly fluctuating water levels. The fire at night, the deep sleep on a quality mattress, you awaken to natural light with the many windows. Off grid elevated, your needs are met.

From Alex: February 2023:

I can’t say enough great things about this place! We came up from the cities to celebrate my fiancés birthday weekend and I completely surprised him with this trip. When we arrived he was in awe (as was I) and our dog immediately loved it too! As stated in another review, not only were dogs allowed, but they were welcomed and that meant so much! The location was a beautiful and remote escape, and the snow shoe trails were so fun to explore without having to go anywhere! You can tell by the way the property is cared for and how many things there are to do, that Brien and Shelley care about the people who stay here. We wish we would have stayed longer! The last thing I want to mention (because I could keep going) is the outhouse is probably the best we’ve ever used, and that’s saying something for a weekend in February! We hope to be back :)

From Mary Ann: August 2023 (Mary Ann was the first guest at Riverwood Hideaway in the fall of 2022. She now returns whenever she can.)

The Riverwood Hideaway is very, very special and unique. There's no other place like it. It's charm and privacy, location tucked in the woods on the Knife River, the furnishings, all combine to make one's experience off the charts. I feel so lucky to have found it. And Shelley and Brien are salt of the earth people. All is good energy.
